OHPA has responded to the GMC consultation paper, Reform of the fitness to practise procedures at the GMC: The future of adjudication and the establishment of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service. While welcoming many of the proposals – which owe much to OHPA’s own work on these matters – OHPA suggests that the governance arrangements for the new MPDS may need re-visiting and offers views on other aspects of the GMC’s plans.

The OHPA Board has responded to recent consultation exercises by the General Medical Council and the General Optical Council in which the regulators foreshadow changes to Fitness to Practise arrangements that reflect learning from the OHPA programme.
