The Government announced on 2 December 2010 that the OHPA programme will not proceed.

Until the legislation giving rise to OHPA is repealed (probably by Order some time after November 2011), OHPA will continue to honour all statutory and other obligations. We will be using the time to work with partners in the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence, and the General Medical Council and the other regulators, to ensure that the lessons from the OHPA programme are shared as widely as possible.
